I woke up the other morning and decided that after we dropped my son off at preschool, and following our Bible reading and math lesson, we would go for a nature walk. It was excruciatingly hot last week and this week the weather has been beautiful. We have to take advantage of the gorgeous weather while it lasts as colder weather is just around the corner.
I let my daughter ride her bike down to the trail and we walked along it taking in the fresh air and all the sounds of summer while it can still be heard. Periodically, we would review the Week 2 Memory Work for CC, but we also spent time admiring God and thanking him for all the beautiful things He has given us to look at and enjoy.
We discovered grasshoppers and pretty wild flowers.
Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it;
let the fields be jubilant, and everything in it. Then all of the trees of the forest will sing for joy. Psalm 96:11-12
And sorted the leaves, petals, and flowers that we collected when we returned home.
Do you take nature walks with your children?
